Discover Cottbus: Favorite Places between the City Wall and Tannery Houses
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, CottbusService invites you to an atmospheric old town tour through Cottbus. Accompanied by experienced city guides, the tour leads to selected favorite places of the Cottbusers and combines local history with impressive city scenes.
Historic Old Town with a Special Character
The tour opens new perspectives on the more than 860-year-old Cottbus. The baroque townhouses shape the cityscape at the Altmarkt, while the historical city wall with towers, gates, and wares tells the medieval heritage of the city. Each station vividly illustrates the cultural heritage of Lusatia and brings history to life in the cityscape.
From the Administration Pond to the Art Museum
Stations include the Altmarkt, the city wall, the administration pond, the art museum, and the characteristic tannery houses. The varied route connects architecture, city history, and cultural peculiarities. Between historical facades and quiet water bodies, a versatile discovery experience beyond typical city tours emerges.
City Tour with a Personal Atmosphere
The tour lasts about 90 minutes and is limited to a maximum of 30 participants including children. The meeting point is in front of CottbusService at the Cottbus Town Hall. A small Cottbus surprise for home rounds off the cultural enrichment.
