Ancient Source Meets Political Satire and Music

The Peace by Peter Hacks combines an ancient source with political satire and musical stage elements. The performance can be experienced in the Grand House of the State Theater Cottbus and is aimed at those who wish to discover theater with historical references, social observation, and music on stage.

Ancient Source, Political Satire

At the center is a piece that draws its material from antiquity and connects it with a satirical view of political contexts. Peter Hacks uses this connection to bring together historical motifs and political themes in an independent stage adaptation. This creates a theater evening that intertwines literary source and contemporary satire.

Musical Stage Elements

The production is complemented by musical elements. Music thus is not just accompaniment but part of the stage design and shapes the character of the performance. The interplay of acting, satire, and music promises a varied theater visit in the Grand House.

The Theater Evening in Cottbus

The performance takes place on November 19, 2026 in the Grand House of the State Theater Cottbus. Those interested in classic materials in modern political adaptation will find a special access to Peter Hacks’ work here. The combination of ancient source, satirical perspective, and musical stage elements makes The Peace a standalone program point in the Cottbus theater calendar.
