Basic Acting Course: The stage is set for joy of playing in Cottbus
On November 3, 2026, a vibrant space opens at the rehearsal center of the State Theater Cottbus for all those who do not just want to observe acting but experience it themselves. The basic course is aimed at adults aged 18 and over and invites participants to discover their self-expression in a relaxed theater atmosphere.
Improvisation, Presence, and Physical Expression
At the center are the diverse expression possibilities of acting. Improvisation creates spontaneous play situations, presence work sharpens perception, and body as well as voice work lead to a more conscious handling of space, posture, and language. The course's dramaturgy combines practical exercises with immediate stage experiences.
Exploring Theater Forms Playfully
Selected pieces from the program of the State Theater Cottbus serve as starting points to examine and practically test special theater forms. This provides direct access to directing, acting, and scene design. It is not about perfect auditions, but rather the joy of collective play.
An Open Entry without Prerequisites
Each appointment can be attended individually. Curious individuals are welcome; no prior knowledge is required. Comfortable clothing, clean flat shoes, as well as food and drink are recommended for the two-hour work at the rehearsal center.
Conclusion: Bringing Acting to Life
The basic acting course promises a direct insight into the working methods of the theater and an intense shared stage experience. Those who want to learn about improvisation, body, and voice work in an inspiring atmosphere will find an open access to the performing arts here. Participation is free, but registration is required.
